Privacy Policy
Last Updated: April 6, 2026
Introduction
This Privacy Policy describes how Habits ("we," "our," or "the app") handles your information. We are committed to protecting your privacy. Habits is designed with a privacy-first approach — your data stays on your device.
Information We Collect
Information We Do NOT Collect
Habits does not collect, transmit, store, or share any personal information with us or any third parties. Specifically:
- We do not require account creation or login
- We do not collect your name, email address, or any contact information
- We do not collect device identifiers or advertising IDs
- We do not track your location
- We do not use analytics or tracking SDKs
- We do not display advertisements
- We do not sell, rent, or share any data with third parties
Data Stored Locally on Your Device
The app stores the following data exclusively on your device using Apple's SwiftData and UserDefaults frameworks:
- Habits session history: start time, end time, session type, and completion status
- App settings: customized timer durations and session-per-cycle preferences
- Habit data: habit names, descriptions, color preferences, daily completion entries, and creation dates
- Timer state: current session progress, scheduled alarm references, and pause state
This data is stored locally and is never transmitted to any server, cloud service, or third party.
Third-Party Services
Habits does not integrate with any third-party analytics, advertising, crash reporting, or data collection services.
The app uses the following Apple system frameworks, which operate entirely on-device:
| Framework | Purpose |
|---|---|
| AlarmKit | Scheduling reliable background alarms for Habits session phases |
| ActivityKit / WidgetKit | Displaying Live Activities on the Lock Screen and Dynamic Island |
| SwiftData | Persistent local storage for session history and habit data |
| UserNotifications | Delivering local notifications for session phase transitions |
None of these frameworks transmit your data off your device.
Data Retention
All app data is stored on your device for as long as you use the app. You can delete all app data at any time by:
- Deleting the Habits app from your device, which removes all associated data
- Using iOS Settings → General → iPhone Storage → Habits → Delete App
Data Sharing
We do not share your data with anyone. There is no data to share because we never collect it.
Children's Privacy
Habits does not collect personal information from anyone, including children under the age of 13. The app is safe for use by all age groups. We comply with COPPA and similar international regulations.
iCloud Sync
Habits currently does not use iCloud sync. All data remains on the device where it was created. If iCloud sync is added in a future update, this privacy policy will be updated accordingly.
Security
Since all data is stored locally on your device, it is protected by your device's built-in security features:
- Device passcode / Face ID / Touch ID
- iOS data encryption at rest
- App sandboxing (other apps cannot access Habits' data)
Your Rights
Since we do not collect any personal data, all data control is entirely in your hands through your device. Under applicable privacy laws (GDPR, CCPA, and others), you have the right to:
- Access: All your data is already accessible to you within the app
- Deletion: Delete all data by removing the app from your device
- Portability: Your data is stored in standard iOS formats on your device
- Objection: There is no data processing to object to
Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected by updating the "Last Updated" date at the top of this document.
